MINISTRY OF EDUCATION STATE DEPARTMENT FOR UNIVERSITY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT GOVERNMENT OF INDIA SELF FINANCING SCHEME (SFS)2023-24

The Ministry is in receipt of communication from High Commission ofIndia, Nairobi informing that the Government of India through its SelfFinancing Scheme (SFS) has offered Bachelor of Engineering (B.E/ B.Tech), Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Diploma in Engineering andPharmacy courses for the academic year 2023-24.Eligibility criteria and application procedure for the Bachelor ofEngineering(B.E/B.Tech), Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor ofMedicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) & Bachelor of Dental Surgery(BDS) and Diploma in Engineering, and Pharmacy Courses under SelfFinancing Scheme (SFS) for the Academic Year 2022-23

  1. Eligible candidates must
    i. fill and submit to the Directorate of Higher Education, Nairobi
    a duly filled prescribed application form supported by the
    following documents in triplicate- Prescribed Application
    Form is available at Directorate of Higher Education Room
    2702 (with authentic English translations, wherever
    required):-
    ii. Three copies of candidate’s recent photographs (passport-size)
    duly attested by the Mission/ post pasted at prescribed places
    in the application;
    iii. Three attested copies of candidate’s certificates and mark
    sheets with percentage of marks of the qualifying examination
    (A certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU),
    New Delhi that the candidates qualifying examination is
    equivalent to 10+2 standard of Central Board of Secondary
    Education (CBSE) in India for the purpose of admission to
    BE/B. Pharmacy/MBBS/BDS and 10th Standard of CBSE in
    India for the purpose of admission in Diploma Level technical
    courses, must be enclosed. The website of Association of Indian
    Universities (http://aiu.ac.in/evaluation.php) may be
    consulted in this regard.
    iv. Three attested copies of the candidate’s: –
  • First four pages of the passport;
  • Citizenship certificate;
  • Birth certificate
  • Character certificate from the Head of Institution last
    attended;
  • NEET-UG 2022 Score (for medical seats)
  1. Eligibility Criteria: –
    A. MBBS/BDS
    i. Candidate must have secured a minimum of 50%
    aggregate marks with at least 50% in physics, chemistry
    and Biology (Botany & Zoology) separately and 50% in
    English in qualifying examinations (equivalent to 10+2
    standard of CBSE in India-Equivalence certificate from
    Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi
    must be enclosed.
    ii. National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) shall be
    undertaken by all candidates and it is conducted by
    National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission of
    MBBS/BDS Courses in India- it shall be necessary for a
    candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile
    in NEET
    iii. For candidates who are willing to apply for MBBS seat at
    AIIMS, New Delhi should check the fee details at AIIMS
    website.
    B. BE/B Tech
    i. A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60%
    aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry
    and Mathematics separately and 50% in English in the
    qualifying examination. (Equivalent to 10+2 standard
    of CBSE in India- Equivalence certificate from AIU,
    New Delhi must be enclosed).
    C. B. Pharmacy
    i. Candidate must have secured a minimum of 60%
    aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, chemistry,
    Biology (Botany & Zoology) separately and 50% in English
    in the qualifying examination (Equivalent to 10+2
    standard of CBSE in India- Equivalence certificate
    from AIU, New Delhi must be enclosed).
    D. Bachelor Architecture (B Arch);
    i. Candidate applying for B Arch course is required to pass
    aptitude test as prescribed by Council of Architecture.
    Candidate who does not pass the Aptitude Test will not
    be eligible for award of enrollment by Council of
    Architecture, New Delhi.
    E. Diploma in Engineering Courses
    i. A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60%
    aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry
    and Mathematics and 50% in English in 10th Class
    (Equivalent to 10+2 standard of CBSE in IndiaEquivalence certificate from AIU, New Delhi must be
    enclosed).
    F. Diploma in Pharmacy
    i. A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60%
    aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry,
    Biology (Botany and Zoology) and 50% in English in 10th
    class in the qualifying examination (Equivalent to 10+2
    standard of CBSE in India- Equivalence certificate
    from AIU, New Delhi must be enclosed).
  2. Marks obtained in 11th standard examination should not be taken to
    consideration while computing marks obtained in 12t year of
    examination. It may also kindly be ensured that percentage of marks
    mentioned in the application forms are clearly indicated as such and
    not given in grades like A B, C, D, E etc. if grades are unavoidable,
    the marks obtained in percentages should be indicated invariably in
    brackets. In this case, candidates must obtain certified equivalent
    marks in percentages from respective examining body. Where
    percentages of marks are not indicated, applications will be rejected.
    Foreign students having PIO, OCI card and NRIs are not eligible to
    apply for MEA’s Self Financing Scheme.
  3. Foreign students can also apply BE/B.Tech/B. Arch/B.
    Pharmacy/MBBS/BDS for nomination pending final declaration of
    their qualifying examination results equivalent to 10+2 standard of
    CBSE.
  4. The Ministry of External Affairs of India will scrutinize all the
    applications received and only after these are found complete in all
    respects, the names of the eligible applicants on the basis of elibility
    criteria of marks in Grade 12th and NEET will be considered for
    nomination in the order of merit and preference for the course. There
    are no fixed quotas for any country. The decision of the Ministry
    of External Affairs of India in the selection will be final.
  5. Selected candidates are expected to comply with admission
    formalities, fee structures and procedures of respective colleges/
    universities. These may include specific medical examination in
    India.
  6. It may please be noted that above seats are on self-financing basis
    and education section at the Ministry of External Affairs,
    Government of India does not provide any financial
    aid/scholarships/concessions to foreign students selected under
    this scheme.
    Duly filled applications (Prescribed application form available at
    Directorate of Higher Education, Teleposta Towers, 27th Floor Room
    2702 and list of colleges offering various courses) to be submitted to
    Director, Higher Education
