Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Information Management Assistant (IMA) to join our dynamic team at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. This role is exclusively open to USEFM (U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members) across all agencies. As an IMA, you will play a critical role in supporting the embassy’s classified and unclassified computer networks, messaging systems, and communication tools. This position requires a Top Secret Security Clearance and a commitment to delivering top-notch IT support in a fast-paced and secure environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. IT Support and Network Management

  • Provide Tier I and II support for OpenNet and ClassNet users, ensuring seamless network operations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and application support for systems such as the State Archiving and Message Retrieval Toolset (SMART).
  • Manage network operations including circuit troubleshooting, desktop and peripheral support, and C-PKI card management.
  • Deploy new computers and peripherals, maintaining high standards in IT assurance and security management.
  • Participate in the IRM Duty Roster, offering after-hours emergency support as required.

2. Mobile Device and Inventory Management

  • Support mobile device management, ensuring devices are updated and functioning to meet user needs.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory controls, ensuring all devices and equipment are properly accounted for.

3. Telephone and Radio Management

  • Manage the embassy’s telephone and radio systems, ensuring all user requests are addressed promptly.
  • Provide inventory support for the telephone and radio programs, ensuring equipment is maintained and accounted for.

4. IT Inventory Administration

  • Administer IT inventory including ITCOM inventory, ensuring proper procedures for receiving, transferring, and disposal.
  • Assist with annual inventory requirements, contributing to the office knowledge base and performing other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience:

  • Two years of office management or technical experience is required. This experience should demonstrate strong organizational skills, adherence to regulations, attention to detail, and proficiency in IT software and equipment.

Education:

  • High School diploma is required.

Language:

  • Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing of English is required. (This may be tested).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage ISC computer systems independently.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in addressing IT-related challenges.
  • Ability to document problems and solutions clearly, and create procedures for use by colleagues.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance is required for this position.
