Join our dynamic and growing team at Radisson Blu Hotel Nairobi Upper Hill as an Assistant Meetings & Events Manager. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing the strategic initiatives of our Meetings & Events Department. You will ensure exceptional guest experiences and contribute to business expansion while driving the performance of your team. We are seeking a passionate, results-driven individual who will serve as an ambassador for our brand, aligning all work with Radisson Blu’s values, policies, and local regulations.

Job Summary

As the Assistant Meetings & Events Manager, you will support the day-to-day operations of the Meetings & Events Department, ensuring all events are executed flawlessly. You will collaborate with various departments to maintain our high-quality standards and work closely with clients to guarantee exceptional service. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by expanding into new market segments and maximizing hotel revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Meetings & Events Department Initiatives:
    Support the implementation of strategic initiatives that drive business expansion and enhance guest satisfaction. Utilize innovative approaches to elevate the department’s performance.
  • Business Development:
    Identify and cultivate new market segments to achieve budgeted revenue goals. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to create compelling offers and contracts that attract new clients.
  • Event Planning and Execution:
    Coordinate with the Operations Team to ensure that all meetings and events are executed to the highest standards. Use guest feedback to continuously refine and improve services and procedures.
  • Maximize Revenue:
    Develop and manage revenue strategies for meetings and events, ensuring that all opportunities are optimized. Collaborate with the Sales Team to manage client bookings, negotiations, and ongoing relationships.
  • Team Leadership:
    Assist in leading and motivating the Meetings & Events Sales Team. Provide clear direction and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation. Support team development through regular coaching and feedback.
  • Client Management:
    Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring that all guest requests and needs are addressed promptly. Work closely with various hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    Assist with the preparation of monthly reports, analyzing key metrics to drive continuous improvement. Ensure all activity is accurately logged and tracked on salesforce.com.
  • Compliance and Standards:
    Ensure that all meetings and events adhere to Radisson Blu’s standards, local regulations, and best practices. Uphold our commitment to safety, sustainability, and exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Meetings & Events, preferably in an upscale or luxury hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex situations with grace.
  • Commitment to guest service excellence with a passion for hospitality.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Opera Property Management System is an advantage.
