Job Overview
The Embassy of Peru in Kenya is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Administrative Assistant to join our diplomatic team in Nairobi. In this role, you will be essential in providing high-level support to the Ambassador and other diplomats. Key Responsibilities
As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of duties to support the embassy’s activities:
- Document Preparation: Draft and format various documents, including official correspondences, Note Verbale, out-going letters, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
- Application and Liaison Tasks: Manage applications and follow-up requests directed to receiving governments, UN organizations, and other local bodies to streamline diplomatic processes.
- Archive Management: Organize and maintain physical and digital archives to ensure efficient access and security of all embassy records.
- Administrative Support to Diplomats: Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the Ambassador and other diplomats, ensuring seamless execution of embassy operations.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Communications, or a related field.
- Fluency in English and Swahili is essential for effective communication with local stakeholders. Spanish proficiency is highly desirable and advantageous in enhancing communication within the embassy.
Required Experience:
- At least two years of work experience as an Administrative Assistant, Personal Assistant, Secretary, or in similar administrative roles.
- Previous experience in a Diplomatic Mission, International Organization, or Government Office will be highly regarded.
Additional Requirements:
- This is a local position; applicants must hold the right to work in Kenya at the time of application.
