Program Overview

World Vision Kenya is thrilled to announce the recruitment of the Graduate Internship Program (GRIP) FY25. We are seeking recent graduates who are passionate about serving the underprivileged in rural and semi-urban areas across Kenya. The program will run from October 1st, 2024 to September 30th, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the GRIP FY25, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Kenya.
  • Educational Background: Graduates who have completed and obtained a degree in any of the listed faculties from July 2023 to August 2024.
  • Experience with World Vision: Preference will be given to graduates who are beneficiaries of World Vision’s child sponsorship program or have experienced the impact of World Vision Kenya’s community development programs.
  • Commitment: Willingness to commit to the full 1-year program and live and work in World Vision Kenya program areas.
  • Geographic Focus: Graduates from arid, semi-arid, and fragile contexts are encouraged to apply.
  • Conflict of Interest: Must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as relatives working for or affiliated with World Vision Kenya.
  • Certification: Willingness to provide a valid Certificate of Good Conduct if selected.

Available Specializations and Locations

The GRIP FY25 program offers internship opportunities in the following specializations and locations:

1. Community Development

Location: Osiligi AP, Kajiado County

Description: This role focuses on implementing and supporting community development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in rural areas. Interns will engage in projects that address local needs and contribute to sustainable development.

2. Human Health

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: Interns in this category will work on health programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of communities. The role involves supporting public health initiatives and contributing to efforts that address health challenges in Kenya.

3. Law/LLR

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: This internship provides experience in legal and regulatory aspects related to humanitarian work. Interns will assist with legal documentation, compliance, and support in handling legal issues pertinent to World Vision’s operations.

4. Finance/Accounting

Locations:

  • Mwaala AP, Machakos County
  • Bartabwa AP, Baringo County
  • Bandaptai AP, Bomet County
  • Olkejuado AP, Kajiado County

Description: Interns will gain experience in financial management, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. This role supports the financial operations necessary for effective program delivery.

5. Agriculture/Agribusiness/Agricultural Extension

Locations:

  • Mutomo AP, Kitui County
  • National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: This role involves working on agricultural projects that support local farmers and promote sustainable farming practices. Interns will assist in agricultural training and extension services to improve food security.

6. Theology/Divinity

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: Interns will engage in faith-based initiatives that integrate religious values with community development. This position supports projects that combine spiritual guidance with practical assistance.

7. Project Planning/Management

Location: Kinango AP, Kwale County

Description: Interns will assist in planning and managing community projects. This role involves project coordination, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure successful implementation and impact.

8. Communication/Marketing/PR

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: This internship focuses on communication strategies, marketing efforts, and public relations activities to enhance World Vision’s visibility and outreach. Interns will work on media relations, content creation, and promotional campaigns.

9. Education/ECDE

Location: Lokis AP, Baringo County

Description: Interns will support educational programs and early childhood development initiatives. This role involves working with children and educators to improve educational outcomes in underserved areas.

10. Child Protection & Advocacy

Location: Kalapata AP, Turkana County

Description: This role focuses on safeguarding children’s rights and advocating for their well-being. Interns will work on programs that protect children from abuse and exploitation while promoting their rights within communities.

11. Public Health/Hygiene & Sanitation

Location: Haramatak AP, Garissa County

Description: Interns will be involved in public health initiatives aimed at improving sanitation and hygiene practices. This role includes supporting health campaigns and interventions to enhance community health standards.

12. Civil Engineering/WASH & Construction

Location: Bamba AP, Tana River County

Description: This internship provides hands-on experience in civil engineering projects related to water, sanitation, and infrastructure development. Interns will assist in planning and executing construction projects that benefit local communities.

13. Environmental Sciences/Natural Resources

Location: Angurai AP, Busia County

Description: Interns will work on environmental conservation and natural resource management projects. This role involves supporting initiatives aimed at preserving natural resources and promoting sustainable practices.

14. Supply Chain Management

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: Interns will gain experience in managing the supply chain for humanitarian projects. This role involves logistics, procurement, and distribution to ensure timely and efficient delivery of resources.

15. Human Resources Management/Administration

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: This role involves supporting HR functions and administrative tasks. Interns will assist with recruitment, employee relations, and administrative duties to ensure smooth HR operations.

16. ICT/Computer Science

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: Interns will work on IT projects and support the organization’s technology needs. This role includes managing systems, developing software solutions, and ensuring efficient IT operations.

17. Statistics/Economics/Social Work/Gender & Development/Public Health

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: Interns will engage in research and data analysis to support development projects. This role involves working on studies and evaluations that inform World Vision’s programs and policies.

18. Communication/Marketing/PR/Social Sciences or Humanities

Location: National Office, Karen, Nairobi County

Description: This internship offers experience in communication, marketing, and public relations within the context of social sciences or humanities. Interns will assist in developing strategies to promote World Vision’s mission and programs.
