Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Paraprofessionals Internship Vacancies – Nairobi, Kenya
Introduction
The Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development – State Department for Livestock Development is excited to announce internship vacancies for veterinary surgeons and veterinary paraprofessionals who have graduated in the year 2023/2024. This statutory requirement is in line with the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Paraprofessionals Act, No. 29 of 2011 Sections 15 (1) and 17 (1). The internship will be conducted according to the Internship Policy and Guidelines for the Public Service, the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Paraprofessionals Regulations of 2013, and the Kenya Veterinary Board Internship Guidelines. The internship is set to commence in December 2024, with the application deadline being 31st October 2024.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in hands-on veterinary procedures and treatments.
- Assist in the management of livestock health and welfare.
- Conduct routine inspections and provide necessary medical interventions.
- Collaborate with experienced veterinary professionals for comprehensive learning.
- Document and report on various veterinary activities and cases.
Qualifications and Skills
To be eligible for the internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Temporary Registration as a veterinary intern for the year 2024 by the Kenya Veterinary Board.
- Certificate of Training (BVM, BSc, Diploma, or Certificate level) from universities and other training institutions recognized by the Kenya Veterinary Board.
- KCSE Certificate.
- KCPE Certificate.
- National Identity Card.
- Birth Certificate.
- KRA PIN Certificate.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
- NHIF Card.
- NSSF Card.
- Personal Accident Insurance Cover.
- Bank Account in your name.
- Two Recent Passport Size Photographs.
Application Procedure
- Register with the Kenya Veterinary Board as an intern by visiting their official website.
- Obtain the certificate of registration as an intern from the Kenya Veterinary Board.
- Apply to the Director of Veterinary Services by filling in personal details in an online Google Form.
- Placement Date for successful applicants will be communicated via email.
