About USAID Dumisha Afya

USAID Dumisha Afya is a five-year USAID-funded service delivery project under the auspices of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH). Our mission is to provide sustainable access to healthcare by increasing the use of county-led health and social services in Bungoma and Busia counties through support from the American people. This project focuses on HIV prevention, care, and treatment services and aims to support the Government of Kenya (GoK) in addressing HIV/AIDS, safeguarding the rights and welfare of children and adolescents impacted by HIV/AIDS, and ensuring equitable access to quality primary healthcare services for the most vulnerable populations.

Job Summary

The Clinical Administrative Intern will support the Chief of Party’s office in creating efficient operational systems to ensure the achievement of program goals. This position is based in Bungoma County and requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support: Assist in developing and maintaining efficient operations systems.
  • Logistics Coordination: Liaise with relevant offices/departments to ensure smooth program operations.
  • Financial Monitoring: Assist in developing, analyzing, and monitoring costed program work plans, tracking obligations and expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Reporting: Contribute to the development of high-quality work plans, quarterly and annual reports, and other donor-required reports.
  • Programmatic Reviews: Participate in joint programmatic performance and review meetings to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief of Party.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Nursing, Project Planning and Management, Environmental Health, Clinical Medicine, or a related field.
  • Academic Performance: Must have at least a second-class upper degree.
  • Experience: Tailored for fresh graduates (not more than three years since graduation).
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; training in project management is an added advantage.

Terms of Employment

The successful candidate will be employed on a six-month renewable contract. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery in Kenya.
