Overall Purpose of the Job

As the Unit Manager, you will report directly to the Business Development Manager and take charge of a high-performing unit of sales agents. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the promotion and sales of AAR Insurance’s comprehensive range of products to our valued customers, thereby contributing significantly to the achievement of our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Recruitment and Leadership:
    • Recruit, maintain, and lead a dynamic unit comprising at least 50 productive independent agents.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, motivation, and continuous development within your team.
  2. Exceed Sales Targets:
    • Set and surpass production targets for both your unit and individual sales, showcasing your exceptional sales acumen.
    • Ensure timely preparation and submission of production reports to the Business Development Manager.
  3. Compliance Management:
    • Take ownership of agents’ compliance within your team, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and regulations.
  4. Team Empowerment:
    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with unit members to provide guidance, training, motivation, and direction.
    • Organize and lead unit meetings to review progress and strategize effectively.
  5. Efficient Underwriting:
    • Perform meticulous field underwriting for proposal forms, guaranteeing accurate KYC documentation.
  6. Collaborative Partnerships:
    • Collaborate with market heads to orchestrate marketing support, activations, and engaging customer interactions.
  7. Professional Climate Cultivation:
    • Foster a positive and professional work atmosphere within your unit, nurturing a strong sense of unity and purpose.
  8. Business Representation:
    • Accompany team members to key business presentations and sessions, ensuring seamless transmission of production results.
  9. Administrative Support:
    • Assist the Business Development Manager in interpreting and implementing company policies and procedures.
    • Undertake any necessary administrative duties to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Requirements – Education & Experience

  • Holders of a Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in Sales and Marketing, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Possess a valid COP and IRA license.
  • In-depth understanding of Medical Insurance concepts.
  • Experience as an insurance agent will be a distinct advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and related software packages.
