Eligibility Criteria
We are looking for motivated youth who are ready to create real change. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- Age: You must be between 18 and 30 years old.
- Integrity: We are seeking reliable, responsible individuals with a high degree of integrity.
- Team Player: You should be able to conduct independent work but also be a committed team player.
- Communication Skills: Possess excellent social and communication skills.
- Interest in UNESCO’s Mission: Be knowledgeable and passionate about UNESCO’s mission and thematic areas.
- Volunteering Commitment: Willing to volunteer and actively engage in youth forum activities.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of UNESCO Youth Forum Kenya, your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging in Community-Based Projects: Contribute to both individual and non-governmental projects aimed at fostering community development.
- Representing the Youth Forum: Attend key meetings and events on behalf of the youth forum and ensure active participation in discussions.
- Promoting Social Innovation: Work with other forum members to create and promote youth-led solutions to societal challenges.
- Contributing to UNESCO’s Strategic Direction: Support initiatives that align with UNESCO’s strategic objectives in areas like education, culture, and scientific research.
Required Skills and Qualifications

- Active Participation in Youth Networks: You must represent an active youth-led organization or network.
- Community Engagement: Prior experience in community-based projects or youth advocacy is highly encouraged.
- Flexibility: Be open to performing various assigned tasks and ready to attend meetings and events on behalf of the forum.
- Knowledge of UNESCO and KNATCOM: Familiarity with the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) and UNESCO Youth Forum thematic areas is essential.
- Commitment to Inclusivity: We encourage applications from underrepresented groups to ensure diverse representation.
