Key Responsibilities
As an Underwriting Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing the DMVIC platform to issue motor insurance stickers promptly.
- Processing Comprehensive, TPO, and TOR requests efficiently and within TAT from Monday to Saturday.
- Ensuring accurate backup of client data and receiving complete KYC details.
- Mastering and utilizing the internal CRM system, ensuring all information is accurately recorded.
- Preparing and following up on renewal notices to achieve timely closure.
- Collaborating with the accounting team to manage customer payments and apply credit facilities when required.
- Conducting thorough valuation follow-ups to support underwriting decisions.
- Efficiently using the internal dashboard system to process and submit applications for approval.
- Providing support to the BD team to help them onboard new customers.
- Accurately declaring customer information to underwriters in a timely manner.
- Communicating with applicants through phone, email, and in-person meetings to collect and analyze insurance information.
- Screening renewals and referring problem accounts to underwriters.
- Compiling data and analytics to inform policy guidelines and coverage decisions.
- Acting as a liaison between underwriters and customers to prioritize and manage applications.
- Maintaining records of client and agent complaints for follow-up and resolution.
Requirements for the Role
To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
Education and Certification
- A Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A professional insurance qualification or significant progress towards attaining one.
Experience
- Relevant experience in the insurance industry in a similar role.
- Knowledge of claims processes is an added advantage.
Skills and Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance regulatory requirements and processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail for accurate data collection and database management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
