Key Responsibilities

1. Test Plan Development

  • Create and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases based on functional requirements, functional design documents, and user interface documents.
  • Develop test scripts that adhere to industry standards.

2. Test Environment Setup

  • Set up the necessary test environment and conduct smoke tests to ensure its accuracy for testing purposes.

3. Test Execution and Reporting

  • Execute tests and log results.
  • Utilize test administration and management tools, as well as test monitoring tools, to identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Re-use existing testing documentation for new projects/releases.
  • Incorporate test results and changes/defects into test cases.
  • Provide quality and test reports to stakeholders and offer advice on corrective measures.

4. Documentation and Evaluation

  • Develop, review, and refine checklists and test scripts created by team members and testers based on project scope and requirement specifications.
  • Undertake risk-based system evaluation to determine the types and extent of required testing.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields from a recognized university. Additional training in Project Management, Quality Assurance, and System Testing will be an advantage.
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT/Systems related role with a strong knowledge of system testing and software quality control best practices and methodologies.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and interpret clients’ needs technically and in a user-friendly manner.
  • Experience in using test management tools to create and track bugs against requirements (e.g., MS TFS, Selenium, Jenkins, GIT).
  • Experience with systems such as Mobile money transfer, USSD/SMS, ERP, CRM, core banking systems, and other financial services ecosystem systems.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
