We are currently seeking a Technical Operator PET Blow Molder to join our dedicated manufacturing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment, ensuring the production of high-quality products in compliance with stringent operational standards.


Overview of the Role

As a Technical Operator PET Blow Molder, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing equipment. Your primary focus will be to set up, monitor, and maintain machines to produce products that meet the required specifications, while adhering to strict safety and quality protocols.

This is an on-site role based at our Ihururu RD, Nyeri facility.


Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  1. Maintenance and Optimization
    • Ensure assigned equipment is in optimal working condition by conducting autonomous, preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance.
    • Identify, document, and resolve root causes of equipment failures during your shift.
  2. Operations Management
    • Operate processing equipment in line with machine operation manuals to prevent malfunctions and ensure efficiency.
    • Monitor and record critical process parameters as outlined in the Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR).
    • Make necessary adjustments to ensure intermediate and finished products meet quality standards.
  3. Quality Control
    • Conduct pre-processing staging of equipment and raw materials to prevent cross-contamination.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) team to label and manage rejected or unused packaging materials.
  4. Safety and Housekeeping
    • Follow all safety protocols while operating manufacturing equipment.
    • Remove waste and unused materials from the work area, ensuring a hazard-free environment.
    • Champion the 5S methodology in the assigned work area to maintain an organized workspace.
  5. Collaboration and Reporting
    • Escalate persistent equipment issues to the engineering team lead or senior leadership for resolution.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance and operations activities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Educational Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating and maintaining similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, lean manufacturing principles, machine monitoring, and process control.
  • Proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
