Job Description:

Main Duties:

1. HR Administration and Planning:

  • Streamline HR administration across all hotel departments.
  • Compile and manage financial budgets within payroll.
  • Oversee all administrative affairs within the HR department.
  • Supervise training activities for skills enhancement.

2. Ambassador Development:

  • Build and nurture an efficient team of ambassadors.
  • Ensure ambassadors maintain good relationships and adhere to uniform and hygiene standards.
  • Encourage a friendly, courteous, and professional service.

3. Training and Supervision:

  • Train ambassadors to maximize their efficiency.
  • Ensure service standards are maintained per the Hotel and Department Operations Manual.
  • Adhere to operational budget and cost control.

4. Policy Adherence and Flexibility:

  • Ensure compliance with hotel rules and regulations.
  • Stay updated with local legislation and adapt accordingly.
  • Respond to industry, company, or hotel-related changes.

5. Duties Beyond Description:

  • Be flexible in job duties to meet business demands.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
  • Contribute to regular Departmental Communication Meetings.
  • Ensure fair treatment of all ambassadors in line with employment terms, local legislation, and company policies.

6. Duty Manager Responsibilities:

  • Undertake duties of the Duty Manager when required.

Administration, Ambassadors’ Organization, and General Tasks:

  • Manage ambassadors’ personal files.
  • Compile staffing schedules.
  • Administer qualifications for executive positions.
  • Update Talent & Culture manuals.
  • Ensure legal compliance.
  • Follow up on job applications.
  • Organize performance evaluations.
  • Handle accident statistics.
  • Monitor insurance administration.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • A Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or equivalent certification.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources Management/Membership with IHRM.
  • 3-4 years of HR management experience.
  • Profound knowledge of Kenyan labor laws.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems preferred.
