Systems Administrator – Digital Enterprise Services (1 Position) at KENET

Main Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Digital Enterprise Services Lead, the Systems Administrator role is pivotal in maintaining, configuring, and safeguarding the robust KENET cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure supports digital enterprise, advanced research, and education services. In addition, the role encompasses responsibilities within the academic cybersecurity emergency response team (CERT) services and ICT capacity building for the research and education community.

Requirements for the Job

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows Server environments.
  • Proficiency in Unix system administration, Windows server setup & administration, TCP/IP Networks, and strong shell scripting/automation skills.

Hands-On Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience as a systems administrator since graduation.
  • Expertise in design, installation, operation, and maintenance of Web Servers, database servers, content management systems, and data center operations.

Certifications:

  • Current certifications in Linux (LPIC-2) and Windows.
  • Cybersecurity certification.
  • Cloud computing certifications (MS Azure, GCP, AWS, etc) and networking.
  • Information security certifications (CEH, CHFI, CISA).

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High ethical and moral standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams with limited supervision.
