Main Purpose of the Job

This position is a vital component of our Cloud Infrastructure team, reporting to the esteemed Technical Lead. As a Systems Administrator, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining, configuring, and fortifying the dependable and resilient KENET cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure is the backbone that empowers digital enterprises, cutting-edge research, and education services. You’ll also be an integral part of the academic cybersecurity emergency response team (CERT), ensuring our systems remain secure and resilient. Additionally, your expertise will contribute to enhancing the ICT capabilities of our research and education community.

Requirements for the Job

To excel in this role, we’re looking for candidates who hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university. Your journey should be adorned with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows Server environments. We value profound expertise in Unix system administration, Windows server setup & administration, TCP/IP Networks, and robust shell scripting/automation skills.

Furthermore, candidates keen on this role should demonstrate at least five (5) years of hands-on experience since graduation as a systems administrator. Your experience should span across design, installation, operation, and maintenance of on-premise virtualization platforms, cloud systems monitoring, cloud systems automation, enterprise storage architectures and platforms, and data center operations.

Your credibility will be bolstered if you hold a valid Certified OpenStack Administrator certification. Additional certifications in Linux (LPIC-2), cloud computing (MS Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.), networking, and information security (CEH, CHFI, CISA) will undoubtedly elevate your candidacy.
