We are on the lookout for a meticulous, self-motivated, and dependable Stores Manager to fortify our Operations Department. Reporting directly to the Deputy Head of Operations, this pivotal role entails orchestrating seamless day-to-day operations, optimizing inventory management, safeguarding merchandise, maintaining meticulous records, and steering a team of dedicated storekeepers.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring Security and Inventory Control

  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard store merchandise.
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor all stock movements to establish minimum and maximum stock requirements.
  • Generate timely reports encompassing transactions, slow-moving items, and comprehensive summaries on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Streamlining Operations and Collaboration

  • Liaise with various departments to comprehend their requisites and ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Oversee the receiving of inventories in alignment with purchase orders, complete with requisite documentation, quality checks, and adherence to timelines.
  • Monitor and review item issuances with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Plan and execute regular and quarterly stocktakes, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting to ascertain stock accuracy.

Enhancing Customer Service Excellence

  • Uphold customer service excellence across all store facets, encompassing inventory display, product placement, store layout, and issuance procedures.
  • Address any nonconformities raised by internal and external auditors with efficiency and diligence.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Monitor staffing levels, devise work rotas, assign tasks proficiently, and evaluate results.
  • Review, implement, and update company records pertaining to store department policies, standard operating procedures, training plans, performance evaluations, and risk assessments.

Technical Proficiency and Compliance

  • Manage vehicle and machinery inventory in collaboration with other operations section heads, ensuring meticulous updates with every purchase or disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, the Company Handbook, quality and environmental standards, and all other company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the efficient utilization of Sage ERP, coordinating technical support with finance and service providers.

Job Specifications

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • A Higher Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related business discipline from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a dynamic warehousing and supply chain environment.
  • Proficiency in the SAGE system is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Strong leadership and people management acumen.
  • Exceptional communication, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Effective organizational prowess with keen attention to follow-up.
