Job Description

As a Sales & Marketing Intern, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and success. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Strategic Sales Planning: Researching and developing marketing opportunities, and creating and implementing new sales plans to achieve our operational goals.

2. Data Compilation: Preparing, implementing, and maintaining data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts, and other required reports.

3. Proactive Sales Activity: Engaging in day-to-day proactive sales activities such as lead generation, face-to-face meetings, rate negotiation, site inspections, trade show participation, client entertainment, and national/international sales trips.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

1. Revenue Optimization: Developing revenue streams and maximizing the company’s profitability.

2. Brand Positioning: Defining the product in alignment with our brand’s positioning.

3. Commercial Strategy: Implementing and regularly reviewing the company’s commercial strategy.

4. Revenue Forecasting: Forecasting company revenues and preparing relevant reports.

5. Budget Management: Managing the sales & marketing budget effectively.

6. Team Management: Overseeing all aspects of the sales and marketing team’s performance and development.

7. Client Engagement: Following up on sales leads, attending events, and presenting our company to potential clients.

8. Business Growth: Proactively driving new meetings, events, and corporate business.

Skills and Experience Required

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant Degree/Diploma in Sales/Marketing or a related field from a recognized institute.
  • Graduation within the last two (2) years or currently in the final year of study, aged not more than twenty-six (26) years.
  • A recommendation/reference letter from your University/College.
  • A strong drive to maximize revenue and sales opportunities.
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
  • Rapid adaptability and the ability to acquire skills swiftly in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

To succeed in this internship, you must:

  • Have access to a working laptop throughout the program.
  • Dedicate yourself to a continuous 6-month work commitment.
  • Be financially self-sufficient for the entire 6-month period.
  • Be willing to work extra hours when required.
