Key Responsibilities
As a Services Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both the finance and procurement functions. Key duties include:
Finance Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting payment requests for authorization.
- Acting as the organization’s petty cash custodian, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
- Collaborating with the Finance Manager to perform and post reconciliations on time.
- Updating financial transactions daily into the accounting system and completing month-end processes.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports, audits, and year-end processes.
Procurement Responsibilities
- Supporting the Procurement Manager to ensure transparency in procurement activities and adherence to organizational policies.
- Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
- Identifying and establishing relationships with reliable suppliers.
- Drafting tender documents and providing support during the tender process.
- Updating and implementing the procurement plan and addressing internal audit actions.
Required Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field.
- A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in accounting, including financial systems and reconciliations.
- Proven expertise in procurement processes and supplier management.
- Proficiency in using Sage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- A current Certificate of Police Clearance and Kenyan citizenship.
