We are seeking a Senior ICT Officer to spearhead strategic planning and daily operations related to IT at the Kenya Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (KENPHIA II) survey. If you have a knack for managing servers, networks, and data security, we want you on our team. Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management

• Oversee the entire IT infrastructure, from data centers to cloud environments, ensuring seamless operation.
• Champion mobile device management, handling device provisioning, updates, troubleshooting, and decommissioning across Kenya.
• Collaborate with the data management team to align infrastructure with efficient and secure survey data collection and storage.

Information Security

• Develop and implement robust IT security policies to safeguard data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
• Conduct regular security audits and proactively address identified risks.
• Deliver comprehensive InfoSec training to IT support teams and staff, enhancing data protection.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

• Provide top-notch technical support, swiftly resolving IT challenges and minimizing downtime.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring data continuity even during crises.
• Lead and mentor IT support staff, fostering a culture of excellence.

Team Management

• Lead a dynamic support team responsible for managing numerous mobile devices deployed across Kenya for data collection.
• Coordinate device maintenance, health monitoring, data transmission, and issue resolution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure management, with a preference for research or health care settings.
• Proven expertise in server management (on-premises and cloud), mobile device management, and network administration.
• Solid understanding of information security principles and best practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills for tackling complex IT issues.
• Strong leadership capabilities for mentoring and training team members.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks with ease.
• Familiarity with public health surveys and data management is a plus.
• Quick response to IT emergencies is second nature.
