We are currently seeking dynamic, highly qualified individuals with exceptional leadership skills to join us in the role of Senior Finance Officer.

Job Purpose

As a Senior Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the management of finances, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial activities. This includes handling financier payments, generating essential reports, conducting bank reconciliations, and overseeing imprest management. Additionally, you will provide critical support to the Head of Finance in executing the department’s responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Financier Management

  • Prepare payments to all Financiers as per offer letters, utilizing bank cheques, and promptly send updated loan statements.
  • Post new loans from financiers and issue receipts.

Reports Management

  • Ensure the timely generation and preparation of critical reports, including balance sheets, branch profit and loss statements, company financials, loan register, sector reports, funding level reports, liquidity reports, and any other necessary reports.

Budget Preparation

  • Co-ordinate, harmonize, and consolidate all budgets, actively participating in budgetary controls.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Conduct thorough bank account reconciliations, verifying and accurately posting transactions.

Imprest Management

  • Prepare payment vouchers for imprest disbursements, distribute to imprest holders, and ensure the proper clearance and posting of all accounted imprests in the system.

Restructure and Rescheduling

  • Post restructures and reschedule loans as per approved guidelines.

Branch Support and Monitoring

  • Provide support to branches where necessary, overseeing the management of assets, stationery, petty cash, and other finance-related items.

Tax Return Filing

  • Generate and file marketer’s commission withholding tax (WHT) to ensure compliance with tax regulations, avoiding penalties for the company.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
  • CPA finalist and a Member of ICPAK.
  • Proficiency in various computer accounting packages.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a fast-paced accounting/finance and administration environment.
  • Strong knowledge of budget management and control principles.
  • Skills in flexibility, problem-solving, accuracy, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
