Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Officer with G4S, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the safety and security of premises, personnel, and assets.
• Conducting regular patrols and monitoring activities to prevent any unauthorized access or suspicious activities.
• Responding to alarms and incidents, adhering to standard operating procedures.
• Composing accurate and detailed reports of incidents and breaches of security.
• Following up on security breaches, handling emergency situations, and notifying relevant authorities when necessary.
• Ensuring all security protocols are followed, including screening visitors, checking identification, and controlling access points.
• Reporting maintenance issues and any security threats observed during duty.
• Engaging with clients and the public professionally and maintaining a visible presence on assigned premises.

Minimum Qualifications

To be eligible for the Security Officer position at G4S in Nairobi, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education Requirements

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent with a minimum grade of D+.
• Must be literate with the ability to read, write, and comprehend regulations, assignment instructions, and training materials.
• The candidate should be able to compose detailed reports conveying complete information.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• Basic computer literacy skills are required.
• Must have a valid email address for communication purposes.
• Be able to demonstrate that they have no past criminal record through background checks.
• Must be physically fit, with a minimum height requirement of 5’8″ for men and 5’5″ for women.
• Produce a physical fitness certificate from a recognized government hospital.
• Two referees’ letters from traceable individuals will be required for verification and screening purposes.
• Be in possession of a Kenyan National ID Card (original to be produced during the recruitment process).

Additional Requirements

• Age range: Candidates should be between 25 and 35 years old.
• Dress code: Candidates should present themselves in sportswear for the recruitment exercise, as some physical assessments will be conducted.

Physical Fitness Requirements

Physical fitness is a critical component of the Security Officer role. Candidates are expected to:

• Maintain excellent physical condition to handle the demands of regular patrols, responding to emergencies, and preventing unauthorized access.
• Undergo routine fitness assessments to ensure they meet the required standards for their role.

Physical Fitness Testing Includes:

• Endurance and stamina tests.
• Physical strength evaluations.
• Flexibility and agility testing.
• Health checks as mandated by government health facilities.
