1. Security Officer II

Position Overview

  • Job Grade: NSSF Grade 8
  • Location: Head Office
  • Posts Available: 1
  • Role Level: Entry grade for degree holders

As a Security Officer II, you will operate under the supervision of a senior officer, ensuring the protection of NSSF property and assets. This role requires a proactive approach to security and safety, including liaising with law enforcement agencies and supervising security personnel.

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Officer II, your duties will include:

  • Ensuring Protection: Safeguard NSSF property, office premises, and assets, both developed and undeveloped.
  • Liaising with Law Enforcement: Coordinate with law enforcement agencies on matters affecting the organization.
  • Supervising Security Guards: Oversee and train contracted security guards on NSSF’s security requirements.
  • Conducting Training: Organize and coordinate training for staff and stakeholders on safety, health, and security awareness.
  • Drafting Reports: Prepare and forward investigation reports to the senior officer of security services.
  • Identifying Security Hazards: Recognize and report security hazards to the officer in charge.
  • Conducting Spot Checks: Assess and evaluate the performance of contracted security service providers.
  • Maintaining Registers: Keep incident, occurrence, and confidential registers.
  • Conducting Surveillance: Monitor undeveloped properties to gather intelligence on potential security threats.
  • Organizing Drills: Plan and participate in annual emergency drills and manage emergency situations.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for the Security Officer II position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology or a related security field from a recognized institution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution.

  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance form stamped by the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Clearance Certificate from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
