School Driver – Nairobi, Kenya

Job Summary

We are seeking a School Driver to join our team at Aurum Consultants in Nairobi, Kenya. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school, as well as to various school-related activities. This role is essential for maintaining the safety and reliability of our school transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

Safe Transportation of Students

• Transport pupils to and from school, school activities, and field trips, following the designated routes and adhering to the strict time schedules.
• Ensure safety by avoiding accidents, dents, or scratches on the bus/van. The driver will be held accountable for any damages caused.

Student Pick-up and Drop-off

• Pick up and drop off learners at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, ensuring punctuality.
• Assist special needs students by helping them board and disembark the vehicle with the necessary equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, or braces.

Route Planning and Pre-Visits

• Conduct pre-visits to new students’ homes and to those who have relocated, to determine the best accessibility and pick-up times.

Vehicle Maintenance and Reporting

• Perform regular vehicle inspections to ensure that the school bus/van is in good working condition.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the management immediately.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

• Must have completed O’ levels.

Experience and Licensing

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• A valid driving license with authorization up to Class D2.
• A valid PSV Badge (Public Service Vehicle) is required.
• A certificate of good conduct from the police is mandatory.

Additional Skills

• Good communication skills in English.
• Ability to handle special needs equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations in Nairobi.
