Introduction to KEPRO
Welcome to Kenya Extended Producer Responsibility Organization (KEPRO), where sustainability meets innovation. KEPRO is a non-governmental membership-based Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) dedicated to fostering a sustainable waste management system in Kenya. By embracing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), we hold producers, importers, and distributors accountable for managing their goods post-consumer use, thus promoting a circular economy.
Objectives
As a Risk Assessment Consultant at KEPRO, your primary objective is to provide an independent and objective assessment of our financial and business risks. Your recommendations will play a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of KEPRO as a leading PRO in Kenya. Key objectives include:
- Identifying risks and offering advisory solutions.
- Recommending ways to mitigate risks.
- Advising on internal control procedures.
- Developing risk assessment procedures and audit risk models.
- Identifying post-audit gaps and providing training on risk mitigation.
Scope of Work
Your work will encompass various areas critical to KEPRO’s success:
- Advisory on internal control procedures, focusing on procurement, ERP systems, and financial reporting.
- Financial risk assessment, including credit and liquidity assessment.
- Business risk assessment to align with KEPRO’s vision and values.
- Examination of financial records and development of risk assessment procedures.
- Developing an audit risk model and identifying gaps left out in audit reports.
- Training KEPRO management on risk mitigation strategies.
Deliverables
As a Risk Assessment Consultant, you’ll be expected to deliver:
- Comprehensive reports on internal controls and risks.
- Clear risk models and mitigation recommendations.
- Presentation of findings to stakeholders.
- Training sessions for KEPRO finance and management teams.
- Action plans to ensure KEPRO’s continuity as a Going Concern.
Timeframe
The consultancy will commence on TBC and conclude within 45 days, with exact dates to be communicated.
Application and Qualifications
To be eligible, you must demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in risk consultancy.
- Educational qualifications in finance, economics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in risk management/consultancy.
- Ability to develop post-audit risk models and maps.
- Familiarity with membership organizations and alignment with KEPRO’s core values.
Criteria for Evaluation
Evaluation will be based on qualifications, values, and manner of submission. Your proposal should include an overview, technical, and financial components, with all necessary supporting documents.

Payment Terms
Payment will be based on the performance of contractual services rendered, as per KEPRO’s policy.
Evaluation of Proposals
A two-stage evaluation process will be conducted, with successful firms contacted accordingly.
