Research & Analysis:

  • Oversee all research activities related to Somalia’s stabilization efforts.
  • Synthesize data and reports from KasmoDev and CBLOs, ensuring that the analysis aligns with GIST Research’s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor recovery operations and the ATMIS drawdown, identifying key challenges, trends, and opportunities.

  • Produce comprehensive reports that clearly communicate trends and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure consistency between the content of reports and the organization’s broader objectives related to Somalia’s stabilization strategy.

Information Management:

  • Manage incoming data from field teams, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of information.
  • Organize and maintain information for ease of access, enabling swift retrieval for ongoing and future analysis.
  • Channel key insights from the data into the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation (MOIFAR) dashboard, enhancing the visibility of stabilization efforts.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with KasmoDev, CBLOs, and the ERI project to ensure smooth collaboration and information flow.
  • Engage with high-level stakeholders, including government officials and international partners, to present findings and provide updates on Somalia’s recovery operations.
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing well-synthesized information on recovery efforts and the ATMIS drawdown.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Advanced degree in Political Science, International Relations, Conflict Studies, Development Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in research, analysis, and reporting, with a focus on conflict or post-conflict stabilization efforts.
