Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic Research Interns to join our team in Kisumu and Siaya. Key Responsibilities

As a Research Intern, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in conducting biomedical research and data collection.
  • Collaborating with senior researchers to analyze data and compile reports.
  • Supporting the laboratory team with routine experiments and equipment management.
  • Assisting in the documentation of research findings and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Participating in fieldwork as required by ongoing projects.
  • Maintaining compliance with safety protocols and standards during research activities.
  • Assisting in preparing research proposals and progress reports.

Qualifications and Skills

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess these skills:

Mandatory Requirements:

  1. BSc. in Biomedical Science and Technology, Biological Sciences, or Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institution.
  2. Be a Kenyan youth under the age of 30.
  3. Graduated with the required degree and in possession of the relevant academic certificates.
  4. Must provide a copy of a National Identity Card (ID).
  5. Must submit a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
  6. Have not previously participated in any internship or been exposed to workplace experience in your field of study since graduation.
  7. Interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively within the team.
  8. Be goal-oriented, dynamic, passionate, and a self-starter.
  9. Demonstrate a high level of integrity in handling research data.
  10. Possess strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets.
  11. Must be computer literate with proficiency in common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and best practices in research environments.
  • Knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) is an added advantage.
  • Strong interest in public health and biomedical research.

Location

This internship is based in Kisumu and Siaya, Kenya. Interns must be available to work onsite during the entire internship period.
