Responsibilities and Duties:

(a) Job Specification Duties and Responsibilities at this level will entail;

  1. Coordinating the designing of tools and instruments for monitoring and evaluation of employment creation
  2. Designing tools and instruments for monitoring and evaluation of employment creation, promotion, and employment trends
  3. Analyzing and disseminating labor market information to job seekers and other stakeholders
  4. Monitoring and evaluating job creation programs and income-generating activities in both formal and informal sectors
  5. Preparing project proposals for promoting gainful employment
  6. Monitoring job opportunities created in projects and programs in the country
  7. Disseminating research findings on employment to the stakeholders
  8. Developing methodologies for employment measurement, management, and promotion
  9. Organizing research dissemination workshops
  10. Formulating research methodologies
  11. Identifying research areas and preparing concept papers for research
  12. Coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating research projects
  13. Undertaking critical evaluation of research proposals
  14. Coordinating the development of research proposals
  15. Coordinating publication of research findings
  16. Evaluating and reviewing research proposals and methodologies
  17. Preparing research budgets

Academic Qualifications/Professional Skills/Expertise:

(b) Requirements for appointment to this position For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. A minimum period of eight (8) years of relevant work experience, three of which must be supervisory level in the Public Service.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management/Development/Planning, Law, Business Administration, Management and Office Administration, Management and Leadership, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Statistics, Labor and Development Studies, Public Administration, International Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  3. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
  4. Membership of a relevant professional body in good standing.
  5. Proficiency in computer applications.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated results in work performance.
  8. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.
