Introduction

The Wildlife Clubs of Kenya (WCK) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting wildlife conservation and environmental education among Kenyan communities, particularly targeting youth. Established as an association, WCK’s mission includes increasing knowledge and interest in wildlife, conserving biodiversity, and fostering an appreciation for the economic, cultural, and aesthetic value of natural resources. With outreach centers in Mombasa, Kitui, Meru, Nairobi, Nakuru, and Kisumu, WCK provides accommodation and conservation education programs through hostels and wildlife resource centers.

Purpose of the RFP

The Wildlife Clubs of Kenya is seeking qualified consultants to facilitate the development and implementation of a comprehensive Business Development Strategy Plan. This plan will align with our strategic objectives and market opportunities, establishing a roadmap for leveraging key revenue sources within the organization.

Objectives

• Increase Overall Revenue: Diversify income streams to enhance financial sustainability.
• Enhance Value Proposition: Improve the appeal and impact of WCK’s products and services.
• Optimize Resource Utilization: Maximize the potential of existing facilities and resources.
• Establish Sustainable Growth: Develop a model for ongoing, sustainable organizational growth.

Scope of Work

The consultant will be expected to perform the following tasks:

• Market Analysis and Competitor Research: Conduct thorough market and competitor analysis to inform strategy development.
• Strategic Planning Sessions: Facilitate business development strategic planning sessions with key stakeholders.
• Strategy Development: Create a comprehensive business development strategy.
• Implementation Plan: Develop a detailed plan with timelines and milestones.
• KPIs and Monitoring: Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish a monitoring framework.
• Ongoing Support: Provide continuous support and guidance during the implementation phase.

Deliverables

The following deliverables are expected from the consultant:

• Market Analysis Report
• SWOT Analysis
• Strategic Planning Workshop Materials and Outcomes
• Final Business Development Strategy Document
• Implementation Plan
• Regular Progress Reports

Terms and Conditions

Consultants are required to maintain confidentiality. All information, data, and knowledge resources issued by and for WCK will be WCK’s property and will require permission for use and disclosure.

Evaluation Criteria

The proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Cost-effectiveness
• Alignment with Company Values and Objectives

Preliminary Evaluation

Bidders must submit the following mandatory documents:

1. Certificate of Incorporation / Registration
2. CR 12 Certificate
3. Registration with a Professional Body
4. Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority

Financial Evaluation

The financial proposals will be compared to determine the lowest evaluated proposal. For comparison purposes, foreign currency proposals will be converted to Kenya shillings using the exchange rates published by the Central Bank of Kenya on the day of submission of quotations.
