Job Summary

As the Rehabilitation Services Manager at Aga Khan Health Services, Kisumu, you will lead a talented team of healthcare professionals, ensuring that all rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, are delivered to meet the highest standards of care. This role requires a dynamic leader to coordinate with various hospital departments, oversee budgeting, and expand the services to meet growing patient needs in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will work closely with the Clinical Support Services Manager and Medical Director, ensuring that rehabilitation services align with the hospital’s mission of providing quality healthcare. In addition, you will contribute to the hospital’s expansion strategy, managing services across multiple outreach centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Rehabilitation Services Team to deliver high-quality physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and neurophysiotherapy services.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient management of rehabilitation services across both inpatient and outpatient departments.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality improvement and patient safety strategies.
  • Manage the budget, including CAPEX, operational, and staffing, ensuring sustainability.
  • Oversee the expansion of rehabilitation services within the hospital and outreach centers, contributing to the hospital’s growth.
  • Lead the recruitment and ongoing training of staff, ensuring continuous professional development and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, particularly maintaining professional standards for registration and licensure with the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy or Higher Diploma in a relevant specialty from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a busy healthcare environment, with at least three years in a management role.
  • Professional registration with the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience with budget management, reporting, and expansion strategies.
  • Additional training in rehabilitative services such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, or Neurophysiotherapy will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work effectively across various hospital departments.
