Job Summary

The Regional Collections Manager will oversee the execution of regional collection strategies, supervise collections teams, and ensure compliance with organizational policies. The individual will play a critical role in training regional stakeholders, resolving collections-related issues, conducting audits, and managing risks associated with the collections process. The position also requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to align sales with risk management efforts. The Regional Collections Manager will report directly to the Senior Credit Managers and work in close coordination with various teams to meet organizational targets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development and Implementation

• Develop and implement region-specific collections strategies that align with the company’s overall business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional regional heads to ensure seamless regional operations.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in the regional collections process, ensuring the alignment of risk management with sales strategies.
• Track performance metrics by monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly collection reports, ensuring targets are met.

Team Leadership and Development

• Mentor and supervise Area Collections Executives, ensuring the team meets its goals while maintaining professionalism.
• Conduct regular training sessions and capacity-building initiatives for regional stakeholders to enhance risk management and collections efficiency.
• Conduct audits and investigations, regularly visiting regional field offices to address operational concerns and improve collection practices.

Collaboration and Compliance

• Work with customer care teams and easy buy departments to handle customer communications and resolve disputes.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and company policies related to collections, including adherence to consumer protection regulations.
• Liaise with the regional sales team to align collection strategies with sales operations, promoting a cohesive approach between risk management and sales.

Additional Responsibilities

• Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Zonal Credit Manager or Country Credit Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is required.

Professional Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in field collections in industries such as microfinance, fintech, or banking, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Key Skills

• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
• Passion for social impact, especially in underserved rural communities, is highly valued.
