Job Overview
Fairview Hotel Limited is seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented Receptionist/Cashier to join our Front Office team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest service, managing front office operations, and ensuring seamless financial transactions. Key Responsibilities
As a Receptionist at Fairview Hotel, you will be responsible for:
- Managing guest account transactions: Ensure that all guest account transactions have the required accompanying paperwork and are processed efficiently.
- Verifying reservations and payments: Ensure all reservations are accompanied by valid and sufficient methods of payment, including bookings for boardrooms and conference rooms.
- Monitoring guest accounts: Follow up daily on any “PM” accounts that remain unbilled without approval. Ensure no discrepancies in billing processes.
- Handling float accounts: Maintain the required amount in floats at all times, ensuring accuracy in shift banking and foreign exchange transactions.
- Maximizing room occupancy: When taking reservations, gather the correct contact details to guarantee all bookings on the day of arrival. Assist in achieving the budgeted average room rate.
- Generating and processing reports: Print and process required reports per shift or per day, ensuring all data is accurately recorded.
- Managing guest information: Complete registration cards, ensuring all required guest information is captured correctly. Additionally, ensure that all data entry tasks maintain the hotel’s data integrity.
- Facilitating group requests: Forward all group requests to the appropriate department, such as the reservationist, duty manager, or general manager.
- Upholding safety standards: Implement all safety and security measures as directed per shift or per day without exception.
- Handling guest communications: Take guest messages accurately, ensuring timely and correct delivery. Ensure all wake-up call requests are fulfilled, and in the case of no answer, further action is taken to contact the guest.
- Delivering outstanding service: Welcome guests with exceptional service, including offering and maintaining welcome drinks. Collect and process guest questionnaires to gather feedback for management.
- Maximizing loyalty programs: Stay up-to-date with knowledge of our online reward programs and offer guests the necessary information to enhance their experience.
Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this Receptionist position at Fairview Hotel, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Diploma in Front Office Operations from a recognized hotel school.
- Technical Proficiency: Must be proficient in the Opera system (mandatory).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, especially in handling financial transactions and managing guest requests.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, particularly with an international brand, will be an added advantage.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team and handle guest interactions professionally.
