Job Purpose

As the Quality Assurance Officer, you will report directly to the Head of Quality Assurance and be entrusted with ensuring that all products adhere to the established standards. Your primary responsibility will involve overseeing and monitoring all stages of the production process to maintain the highest levels of quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Developing Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures
   • Initiate the formulation of robust quality assurance policies and procedures to uphold product standards.
2. Coordinating Risk Management
   • Oversee the implementation of the risk management policy and work with risk champions to assess and address potential risks in business activities.
3. Implementing Quality Assurance Standards
   • Ensure the effective implementation of quality assurance standards across all aspects of production.
4. Evaluating Quality Management Systems
   • Review the efficiency and effectiveness of quality assurance standards and quality management systems.
5. Reporting and Communication
   • Prepare comprehensive reports on quality activities and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
6. Managing Internal Audits and Corrective Actions
   • Conduct internal audits, document nonconformities, and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
7. Data Analysis for Improvement
   • Coordinate data collection, compilation, and analysis to identify areas for improvement within the quality management system.
8. Identifying Training Needs
   • Identify training requirements and organize relevant training sessions to meet quality standards.
9. External Audits and Compliance
   • Support on-site audits conducted by external providers and implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
10. Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure full compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
11. Other Duties
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Person Specifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications and criteria:

1. Educational Background
   • Bachelor’s degree in food science and technology or Dairy Technology from a recognized Institution.
2. Additional Advantage
   • A Master’s degree in food science and technology/Dairy Technology or relevant field is considered an added advantage.
3. Work Experience
   • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
4. Computer Proficiency
   • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications.
5. Competence
   • Showcase strong competence in work performance.
