Key Responsibilities

As the Quality Assurance Officer, your primary role will be to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all company processes, focusing on risk management and adherence to regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including finance, operations, and credit, to enhance our overall quality framework. The key responsibilities include:

  • Verification of Client Information: Conduct detailed verifications of potential clients to assess creditworthiness. This includes using methods such as spoof calling, reference checks, and ID authentication.
  • Risk Identification and Management: Identify and evaluate potential risks within loan applications and offer actionable recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all verification processes comply with local and international regulatory requirements and internal company policies.
  • Process Audits and Assessments: Regularly audit and assess company processes, products, and transactions to verify adherence to applicable standards and regulations.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation supporting all compliance efforts, ensuring they are readily accessible for both internal and external audits.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis: Prepare detailed reports on loan applications and verifications, providing insights into approval rates, rejections, and risk assessments.
  • Cross-departmental Collaboration: Work closely with credit analysis, customer service, and operations teams to streamline and enhance the loan approval process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on changes in the financial regulations and incorporate these changes into the company’s verification practices.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform additional tasks and duties as designated by management, contributing to the overall success of the company.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in quality control, compliance, and auditing, particularly within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in auditing, compliance, or quality control within the financial services industry.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate data, identify discrepancies, and provide sound recommendations for improvement.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to report findings clearly and collaborate with various departments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Financial Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the financial services sector in Kenya and East Africa, including local regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
