Job Overview:

Gold Star Kenya (GSK) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Officer to join our team in Nairobi. This role is part of the Triggerise initiative, focusing on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) projects. As a Project Officer, you will play a crucial role in contributing to reduced incidences of teenage pregnancies and HIV infections among adolescents aged 15-19 through increased access to modern contraceptives and HIV testing.

Job Details:

Position Title: Project Officer

Location: Nairobi

Contract: 1 Year Fixed Contract (Renewable, subject to funds and performance)

Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction:

  • Provide strategic direction in HIV/AIDS/RH/FP programs, collaborating with the Head of Programs.
  • Ensure sustained quality of care in private sector sites per MOH quality standards.

Mentorship and Coaching:

  • Offer mentorship and coaching to clinical mentors and service providers.
  • Keep clinical mentors and service providers updated on best practices and guidelines.

Technical Guidance and Leadership:

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership in RH/FP activities.
  • Collaborate on joint support supervision for RH/FP services in health facilities.

Data Review and Reporting:

  • Review and analyze program data for performance monitoring.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports, contributing to conferences and publications.

Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI):

  • Guide QA/QI initiatives in HIV/AIDS/RH/FP service delivery.
  • Identify, track, and evaluate sub-optimally performing indicators.

Collaboration and Representation:

  • Collaborate with relevant health agencies to improve private-sector programs.
  • Represent the project in local technical committees and stakeholders’ meetings.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in a relevant field with 5 years of experience.
