Role Overview: Project Finance Administrator
As a Project Finance Administrator at PATH Kenya, you will be the cornerstone of our financial integrity and compliance, ensuring that our projects meet deliverables, adhere to PATH policies, and comply with donor and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Review & Approval:
- Provide timely first-level review and approval for project activities and expenses.
- Act as the custodian of PATH’s policies and procedures.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze project expenses and prepare monthly pipeline status reports.
- Prepare quarterly accrual reports.
Project Tracking & Compliance:
- Track project deliverables and ensure timely updates in Salesforce.
- Build staff capacity in compliance and efficient resource utilization.
Contract Review & Support:
- Assist in reviewing contracting mechanisms, including purchase orders, consultant agreements, and sub-awards.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of annual and life-of-project budgets.
System Building & Monitoring:
- Assist in building operational and financial systems for managing donor funds.
- Regularly review program adherence to compliance issues, intervening as necessary.
Partnership & Collaboration:
- Foster collaborative initiatives between finance and program teams.
- Review procurement contractor justifications.
Additional Duties:
- Carry out other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field. CPA (CPA-K) or ACCA qualification required. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Experience: At least five years in financial management or administration.
- Skills:
- Excellent analytical, financial management, and budgeting skills.
- Experience in financial forecasting and reporting.
- Ability to coordinate projects across organizational levels.
- In-depth knowledge of USAID and other international donor requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Project management experience is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to identify business needs, gather, and analyze information.
- Authorization: Must have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
