Are you a dedicated finance professional seeking an impactful role? We’re looking for a detail-oriented Programme Accountant to join our team at Amref Health Africa. FP2030 Overview

Family Planning 2030 (FP2030) is a global partnership dedicated to women’s and girls’ reproductive health and rights. Our vision is to empower women and girls everywhere to lead healthy lives, make informed decisions about contraception and family planning, and participate fully in society’s development. We’re looking to extend this pivotal partnership and achieve more, building on the progress of the past nine years.

Responsibilities and Duties

Budgeting and Monitoring

  • Collaborate with FP2030 ESA Hub team to develop proposal and annual budgets.
  • Monitor budget performances through monthly income and expenditure statement reviews.
  • Conduct periodic financial reconciliations and reviews in liaison with the grants team.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial reports for FP2030 ESA Hub donors and management.
  • Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required.

Financial Audits

  • Prepare audit schedules and support FP2030 ESA Hub audits.
  • Respond to audit issues and ensure implementation of previous audit recommendations.

Debtors & Creditors Management

  • Maintain up-to-date staff debtor’s accounts through regular reconciliations.
  • Process invoices and payments in compliance with donor rules.
  • Review and reconcile program creditors’ accounts.

Other

  • Perform related duties assigned by the Managing Director, Senior Program Accountant, or Senior Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Administration, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • Professional qualification – CPA (K), ACCA finalist, or equivalents.
  • Proficiency in ICT, accounting, and ERP software.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Four (4) years’ relevant experience, FP2030 experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective organization, planning, and coordination abilities.
  • Problem-solving acumen and a collaborative team player.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
