Position: Principal Instructor, CSG ‘8’ – Eight (8) Posts

Salary Scale: Ksh. 49,000 x 2,170 – 51,170 x 2,550 – 53,720 x 2,650 – 56,370 x 2,750 – 59,120 x 2,920 – 62,040 x 3,080 – 65,120 x 3,440 – 68,560 x 3,590 – 72,150 x 3,790 – 75,940 x 3,800 x 79,740 x 3,810 – 83,550 x 3,810 – 87,360 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Principal Instructor, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized training and guidance to our trainees. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Instructing in the area of specialization.
  2. Participating in the development of instructional methods in the area of specialization in conjunction with other instructors/lecturers.
  3. Coordinating and assessing practical assignments for trainees.
  4. Preparing and planning maintenance schedules.
  5. Designing projects for trainees and guiding junior instructors.
  6. Coordinating practical training programs in the area of specialization.
  7. Evaluating progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
  8. Developing practical training courses/programs in the area of specialization.
  9. Designing technical training materials, including teaching and instructional aids.
  10. Supervising the maintenance and repair of various machines, equipment, and teaching aids.
  11. Preparing work/lesson plans, assessing, and marking practical work for students.

Requirements for Appointment

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Have served in the grade of Senior Instructor for a minimum period of three (3) years or a comparable position in the public sector.
  2. Hold a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Clothing and Textiles Technology, Leather and Tannery, Leather Technology, Food Technology, Entrepreneurship Education, Ceramics, Plastic Technology, Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, Foundry Technology, Food and Beverage, Agricultural Engineering, Business Management/Administration, Water Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Technical Education, Clothing, Textiles, and Interior Design, Fashion Design and Marketing, Fashion Design & Textiles Technology, Community Development, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  3. Possess an Instructor’s Training Certificate lasting not less than six (6) months from a recognized Institution.
  4. Hold a Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
  5. Have a Certificate in computer applications.
  6. Demonstrate merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
