Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Excellence in Client Care: Adhere to hospital treatment protocols, delivering the best possible patient care.
2. Swift Intervention: Identify and address obstetric complications promptly and effectively.
3. Vigilant Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate maternity ward patients attentively.
4. Medical Proficiency: Administer medication and medical procedures in line with hospital guidelines.
5. Client-Centric Approach: Create an outstanding client experience for expectant mothers.
6. Empower and Educate: Counsel and prepare mothers for labor, childbirth, and postpartum.
7. Labor Support: Oversee labor and childbirth, stepping in during emergencies.
8. Safe Deliveries: Perform deliveries with expertise and precision.
9. Post-Birth Care: Provide post-birth care for both mothers and newborns.
10. Documentation Excellence: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including partographs.
11. Breastfeeding Guidance: Support and educate mothers in breastfeeding and newborn care.
12. Collaborative Care: Coordinate with doctors for investigations and procedures.
13. Clinic Management: Run various clinics including MCH and family planning.
14. Medical Equipment Oversight: Ensure availability and functionality of medical equipment.
15. Professional Reporting: Prepare and present nursing reports professionally and promptly.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Bachelor’s degree (an added advantage).
• Minimum three (3) years experience in a busy maternity ward.
• Registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Valid Nursing Practice License.
• Additional certifications (BLS, ACLS, ETAT+, EmOC) advantageous.
