Key Responsibilities

As a Plumber with Tsebo Group, you will be responsible for a wide array of maintenance and repair tasks. Your core duties will include:

  • Performing routine plumbing repairs and maintenance work in commercial and residential settings.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sewer lines.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to identify potential plumbing issues.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving emergency plumbing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety procedures and standards.
  • Collaborating with the Facilities Team to plan and execute larger-scale plumbing projects.
  • Using general repair tools effectively and maintaining equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Managing multiple tasks efficiently with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Responding quickly to repair requests from clients and internal teams, ensuring minimal disruptions to operations.
  • Staying current on emergency procedures and taking appropriate action during crises.
  • Demonstrating leadership by taking initiative on projects and ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Required Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Plumbing from a recognized institution or a related technical field.
  • Minimum Trade Test 1 in plumbing.
  • At least three years of experience working in the built environment or hospitality industry.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in spoken English and capable of delivering clear communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients and team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, particularly in diagnosing plumbing issues and determining efficient solutions.
  • Solid time management abilities, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
  • Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
  • Familiarity with emergency procedures and the ability to respond effectively to crises.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and security procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Experience with client interaction procedures, ensuring customer satisfaction and smooth operations.
