The Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM), established through the Supplies Practitioners Management Act (SPMA) of 2007, is a leading corporate body mandated to train, register, and license supplies practitioners in Kenya. As the national body for Procurement and Supply Chain Professionals in both the private and public sectors, KISM plays a crucial role in regulating the practice of supplies practitioners. The KISM Council is currently seeking a dynamic and performance-oriented individual to join their team as a Planning Officer in the Directorate of Strategy, Planning & Research.

Job Summary

As a Planning Officer, you will play a key role in the development, implementation, and review of policies and strategies for planning, performance management, monitoring, and evaluation. You will be responsible for providing leadership in the execution of the Institute’s Strategic Plan, contributing to corporate research, economic analysis, and strategies, and participating in feasibility studies and service delivery surveys.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  1. Data Collection: Collecting and collating statistical data.
  2. Strategic Plan Implementation: Implementing the Institute’s strategic plan and service charter.
  3. Performance Contract: Implementing the Institute’s performance contract and master plan.
  4. Corporate Research: Conducting corporate research, economic analysis, and strategies.
  5. Feasibility Studies: Undertaking feasibility studies and service delivery surveys.
  6. Development Plans: Providing input in the preparation of development plans.

Person Specifications

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  1. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, project planning and management, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  2. Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in computer applications.
  3. Leadership and Integrity: Meet the expectations of Chapter 6 on Leadership and Integrity.
