Job Title: Photography and Videography Consultant

About COVAW:

COVAW, a leading Kenyan women’s rights organization, is on a mission to combat Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). Join us in advocating for climate justice as a means to mitigate Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

2.0 Background and Rationale:

COVAW, in collaboration with the Urgent Action Fund, is launching a rapid response project addressing the intersectionality of climate change and SGBV. As emergencies increase the risk of violence, especially against women and girls, COVAW is committed to addressing key gaps in Narok and Nairobi counties.

3.0 Objective of the Assignment:

1. Develop a 5-7-minute documentary on the impact of climate change on pastoralist women and those in informal settlements.
2. Capture compelling photos for a digital campaign highlighting the climate change impact.

4.0 Methodology:

• Conduct a guided desk review to identify critical issues.
• Develop scripts for videos and photographs.
• Film interviews with participants, partners, stakeholders, and community members.
• Capture impactful images showcasing climate change effects on women’s rights.

5.0 Deliverables:

• Detailed production and post-production schedule.
• Draft scripts with proposed interview questions.
• High-quality photographs portraying climate change impact.
• 5-7 minute video illustrating climate change effects on women’s rights.

6.0 Consultancy Period:

10 days in December 2023/January 2024.
