Position Overview

In this role, you will serve as the Office Management Assistant (OMA) for the Regional Security Office (RSO) at the Embassy Nairobi. Your responsibilities will encompass various administrative tasks, including both classified and unclassified duties. The position requires strong communication skills as you will interact with diverse individuals daily. As an essential part-time position, you will work 20 hours per week.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements

  • Experience: You should have at least two years of administrative experience, which may include tasks such as filing, scanning, scheduling appointments/meetings, maintaining calendars, ordering office supplies, making travel arrangements, and handling telephone calls.
  • Education: A high school diploma is required.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is mandatory and may be tested during the application process.

  • Pay Plan: The pay plan (FP-8) will be assigned upon receiving the conditional offer letter from the HR Office.

Important Notes for EFMs, USEFMs, and AEFMs

  • Current employees who used a hiring preference to gain employment and are within their first 90 calendar days of employment are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with a hiring preference who have already accepted a conditional offer of employment may NOT be extended a second conditional offer unless they withdraw their candidacy for the first position in writing.
  • Other factors, such as nepotism, conflicts of interest, and budget considerations, may also be taken into account during the selection process.
  • If selected, EFMs are expected to serve in the position for at least one year from the date of hire, considering their sponsor’s tour of duty.
