Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Education:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade ‘D’ Plain or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.

2. Driving License:

  • Possess a valid driving license free from current endorsements for class(es) of vehicle(s) that one may be required to drive.

3. Defensive Driving:

  • Must have attended a defensive driving course.

4. Good Conduct:

  • Possess a valid certificate of Good Conduct Certificate from Kenya Police.

5. First-Aid Certification:

  • Attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or the Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution.

6. Merit and Ability:

  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities at this level will include:

1. Driving Responsibilities:

  • Driving a motor vehicle as authorized.

2. Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tire pressure, etc.

3. Malfunction Reporting:

  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems.

4. Work Tickets:

  • Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned.

5. Safety and Security:

  • Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road, safety of passengers and/or goods therein.

6. Vehicle Cleanliness:

  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
