Job Overview

MorsanHR Consulting Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resource Officer to join our dynamic HR team in Nairobi. Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Collaborate with Department Heads: Work closely with department leaders to identify staffing needs that align with MorsanHR Consulting Ltd’s strategic objectives.
  • Draft and Post Job Advertisements: Create compelling job advertisements and post them across various platforms, ensuring they reach the right audience.
  • Screen, Shortlist, and Interview Candidates: Efficiently manage the recruitment process by screening, shortlisting, and conducting interviews to select the best candidates.
  • Facilitate Onboarding Process: Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and that new employees receive a comprehensive orientation and initial training within their first week.

2. Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Serve as the First Point of Contact for Employee Inquiries: Address employee questions and concerns, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Implement Employee Engagement Programs: Develop and execute quarterly employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, workshops, and team-building activities, to foster a positive work environment.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews: Carry out exit interviews within the final week of employment, analyze trends, and report findings quarterly to improve retention and employee satisfaction.

3. Performance Management and Development

  • Support the Implementation of Performance Appraisals: Ensure the completion of performance evaluations within scheduled timeframes, contributing to the overall development of the workforce.
  • Assist in Creating Individual Development Plans (IDPs): Work with employees to develop and track progress on their IDPs, updating them biannually to align with career goals and company needs.
  • Identify Training Needs: Analyze performance reviews and feedback to identify skill gaps, coordinating at least three training sessions per quarter to address these needs.

4. HR Policy Development and Compliance

  • Develop and Update HR Policies: Regularly review and update HR policies to ensure they comply with legal requirements and support the company’s goals, conducting annual policy reviews.
  • Ensure Compliance with Labor Laws: Conduct biannual audits to verify compliance with labor laws and company policies, addressing any discrepancies promptly.

5. Compensation and Benefits Administration

  • Administer Employee Compensation and Benefits Programs: Manage payroll processing with 100% accuracy, ensuring timely distribution of salaries and benefits.
  • Conduct Annual Salary Surveys: Stay competitive by conducting annual salary surveys and recommending adjustments to the compensation package as necessary.

6. HR Reporting and Analytics

  • Prepare Monthly HR Reports: Compile key HR metrics, including turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and recruitment timelines, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Analyze Workforce Data: Identify trends and areas for improvement by analyzing workforce data, presenting findings to senior management quarterly.
  • Monitor HR Performance Metrics: Set and review SMART goals quarterly to drive continuous improvement in HR practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or Related Field: A solid educational background is essential, with CHRPS certification being an added advantage.
  • 2-3 Years of Experience in an HR Generalist Role: Practical experience in HR is critical to effectively managing the responsibilities of this role.
  • Strong Understanding of HR Best Practices, Labor Laws, and Employment Regulations: A comprehensive knowledge of HR practices and legal requirements is necessary for compliance and effective HR management.
  • Excellent Interpersonal, Communication, and Conflict-Resolution Skills: Ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Proven Ability to Manage Multiple Priorities and Deadlines: Strong organizational skills are needed to handle the various tasks and deadlines associated with this role.
  • Proficiency in HR Software and Microsoft Office Suite: Technical proficiency is required to manage HR processes efficiently.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and Attention to Detail: Ability to analyze data and maintain accuracy in HR reporting.
  • Ability to Maintain Confidentiality and Exercise Discretion: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in handling sensitive HR matters.
