Leadership and Partnership

Driving Quality and Accountability
As a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Officer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning capacities within the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. Collaborating closely with program teams, you will champion the collection, analysis, and reporting of high-quality data to ensure exceptional programming for our beneficiaries. Your efforts will contribute to the realization of IRC Strategy 100 and the Country Strategic Action Plan.

Technical Oversight

Data-Driven Excellence
Your responsibilities encompass a spectrum of technical oversight, including:

  • Collaborating with both MEAL and non-MEAL staff to ensure data is meticulously collected and adheres to IRC and donors’ standards for quality.
  • Facilitating real-time program adaptation by undertaking regular analysis of monitoring data and providing actionable insights to program officers and managers.
  • Producing insightful reports and dashboards to drive learning and informed decision-making.
  • Implementing MEAL plans, refining data collection tools, ensuring online data management, and maintaining data visualization.
  • Using mobile data technology and online dashboards to enhance data collection and analysis.
  • Championing accountability through client feedback mechanisms.

Mentoring and Team Growth
In this leadership role, you will coordinate, mentor, and lead MEAL Assistant(s) to ensure a cohesive, inclusive, and efficient team. Your mentorship will promote the growth of junior staff and partners, furthering IRC’s commitment to excellence.


Qualifications

Are You the Right Fit?

  • Technical degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Health Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science, or Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Minimum of 1 year working experience in related fields.
  • Proficiency in MEAL approaches and techniques, quantitative data collection, and data entry.
  • Experience with mobile data collection tools like Kobo, COMM Care, DHIS, ODK Collect; familiarity with Tableau, PowerBi, or GIS tools a plus.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel and Word) for report writing.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic work environments and under pressure.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of accountability.
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
