Job Title: Principal Instructor, CSG ‘8’ Vacancy: Eight (8) Posts
Salary Range: Ksh. 49,000 – Ksh. 87,360 per month
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Principal Instructor, you will be responsible for instructing in your area of specialization. Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Instruction and Curriculum Development: Developing instructional methods and materials in the area of specialization, in collaboration with other instructors/lecturers. Designing technical training materials and teaching aids.
- Trainee Guidance and Assessment: Coordinating and assessing practical assignments for trainees. Guiding and mentoring junior instructors. Evaluating the progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
- Practical Training Programs: Coordinating practical training programs in the area of specialization. Designing projects for trainees to enhance their practical skills.
- Maintenance and Repair: Supervising the maintenance and repair of various machines, equipment, and teaching aids.
- Lesson Planning and Assessment: Preparing work/lesson plans, as well as assessing and marking practical work for students.
Requirements for Appointment:
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: You should have served in the grade of Senior Instructor or a comparable position in the public sector for a minimum of three (3) years.
- Education: Hold a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Clothing and Textiles Technology, Leather and Tannery, Leather Technology, Food Technology, Entrepreneurship Education, Ceramics, Plastic Technology, Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, Foundry Technology, Food and Beverage, Agricultural Engineering, Business Management/Administration, Water Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Technical Education, Clothing, Textiles and Interior Design, Fashion Design and Marketing, Fashion Design & Textiles Technology, Community Development, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Training Certificates: Possess an Instructors Training Certificate lasting not less than six (6) months from a recognized Institution and a Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Computer Skills: Hold a Certificate in computer applications.
- Merit and Ability: Demonstrate merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
