About Us:

Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation (MWS&I), established pursuant to the Water Act of 2016. Covering the entirety of the Coast Region, including Lamu, Tana River, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, and Taita Taveta counties, our agency is dedicated to the development of water and sanitation infrastructure in the region.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Mechanical Engineer II to join our team. This role, graded CWWDA 7, offers an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about infrastructure development. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles, plants, and machinery essential to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare design drawings and specifications, adhering to project requirements.
  • Conduct repair and maintenance tasks on motor vehicles, plants, and machinery.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment, identifying repair needs and recommending necessary actions.
  • Verify spare parts requirements for vehicles and machinery, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Compile valuation reports for vehicles as necessary.
  • Develop specifications for motor vehicles and plants, aligning with operational needs.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Emoluments:

  • Basic Salary Range: Ksh. 43,639 p.m – Ksh. 55,345 p.m
  • House Allowance and Commuter: As per station assigned
  • Leave Allowance: As prescribed in the HR policy
  • Medical cover: As prescribed in the HR policy
