KONE, a global leader in elevator and escalator solutions, is hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician for its Nairobi, Kenya office. This position focuses on ensuring the safe and efficient operation of elevators and escalators across various commercial and residential buildings. We are seeking a proactive, service-driven professional who will be responsible for maintaining equipment and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring Customer Satisfaction by providing high-quality, timely maintenance services and regular communication with clients and end-users.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance on elevators and escalators to ensure optimal performance.
  • Back Reporting: Providing real-time, accurate reports on maintenance work performed.
  • On-Site Communication: Engaging regularly with customers and on-site personnel to address issues and provide updates.
  • Risk Identification: Identifying potential risks on-site and reporting them promptly to relevant authorities.
  • Unplanned Service Repairs: Diagnosing and executing unplanned service repairs, ensuring customer approval for any work outside of existing contracts.
  • Inventory Management: Managing PAR stock levels and ensuring timely replenishment to avoid disruptions.
  • Time Management: Submitting timesheets promptly for each job completed to maintain an efficient workflow.

Required Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the elevator and escalator maintenance field, with expertise in both KONE and non-KONE equipment preferred.
  • Technical Qualifications: Vocational Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities and basic IT skills are essential for effective reporting and client interactions.
  • Detail-Oriented: You must have excellent attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with a diverse team while managing your workload independently.
