Job Summary
As a Unit Leader reporting to the Agency Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coaching, managing, and driving results through individual sales and by leading Sales Agents, aligning with Liberty Life’s business objectives and code of ethics.
Responsibilities of a Unit Leader
As a Unit Leader at Liberty, you will be responsible for:
Recruiting and Training
- Recruiting, training, supervising, and motivating Agents within Liberty Life.
- Sourcing and promptly submitting applications for insurance and annuity products offered by Liberty Life in Kenya.
Coaching and Mentoring
- Providing training and development to Liberty Life Agents within your unit.
- Coaching and mentoring agents to achieve high performance.
Talent Development
- Identifying and nurturing talent and high performers within your unit.
Performance Management
- Ensuring your team meets set production targets through performance contracts with your agents.
- Assisting agents in setting and evaluating their goals.
Reporting
- Providing weekly reports on team production to the Agency Manager.
Business Relationships
- Establishing and maintaining strong client bases and leads for agents within your unit.
- Implementing market dominance strategies by fostering sustainable business relationships with Employer Markets for the distribution of Liberty Life products.
Market Focus
- Selecting specific pay points to concentrate on as a unit leader.
- Setting and monitoring targets with your team for these selected pay points.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for the role of Unit Leader, you must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) or equivalent insurance professional qualification.
- Hold a valid IRA Licence for the current year, as well as the renewal for 2022.
- Have completed an Academic Diploma or Diploma in Insurance.
- Demonstrate a successful performance record of at least 3 years in a financial institution or insurance sector.
- Maintain a proven record of ethical business practices and unwavering integrity.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Exhibit strong presentation skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted team environment.
- Be capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit the ability to coach and mentor a team.
- Prior experience in leading a sales team within the insurance industry is an added advantage.
