LAND SURVEYOR (S7) POSITION AT KENYA AIRPORTS AUTHORITY

Position: Land Surveyor

Location: Nairobi

Job Category: Permanent


Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to efficiently manage land surveys for the Authority, contributing to effective planning and control measures.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

i. Land Management and Surveying

Executing cadastral and engineering surveys, ensuring accurate land measurements and assessments.

ii. Government Liaison

Collaborating with the Ministry and County Governments for seamless land-related operations.

iii. Field Surveys

Conducting regular field surveys for development projects, title surveys, airport planning, and legal land acquisition in adherence to relevant legislation.

iv. Title Securing

Conducting surveys to facilitate sub-leases, conveyancing, and title security to minimize legal conflicts.

v. Program Planning and Coordination

Devising, coordinating, and implementing land survey programs and policies to meet Authority’s objectives.

vi. Collaboration with Relevant Bodies

Coordinating with the Ministry of Lands, departments, counties, and agencies to ensure accurate land surveys.

vii. Prevention of Encroachment

Taking proactive steps to safeguard Authority’s land from encroachment.

viii. Legal Compliance

Ensuring adherence to legislative and policy requirements, minimizing legal risks.

ix. Record Keeping

Maintaining comprehensive land survey records and related equipment.


Key Qualifications and Experience

i. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geo-spatial Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Geographical Information Systems, or related field from a recognized institution.

ii. Professional Membership

Active membership with the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya.

iii. Work Experience

At least eight (8) years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of three (3) years in a managerial/supervisory position.


Skills and Competencies

Strong teamwork, effective communication, interpersonal, supervisory, and analytical skills.

Shortlisted candidates will need to provide the following clearance certificates, following Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010:

  • Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
  • Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)
  • Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

Ensure the clearance certificates are up-to-date.

Fill the self-declaration Form from EACC, specifying the applied position.
